back to school shopping round up

Howdy y'all! This week I'm participating in Olivia's back-to-school linkup and I'm super excited! I went clothes shopping this past Saturday so I figured I show y'all a little round up of what I purchased for the new school year! (Just a heads up, this post does contain affiliate links, meaning when you click on one or purchase something I earn a small commission at no charge to you.)

Our first stop, naturally, was Target. I only bought one thing, but trust me when I say I wanted to get literally everything in the store. I've been wanting a basic denim button up for a while now, and I found this one at Target for a little over $20! I think I'm going to get a lot of wear out of it so I'm excited!

Next up, we went to Old Navy where I went NUTS. 99% of my wardrobe is Old Navy because they always have such great stuff! I got a striped long-sleeve, a yellow tank with some gorgeous cut-outs, a new pair of jeans, and a super soft black cardigan.

We also stopped in at Francesca's where I found a beautiful black dress that unfortunately I can't find on their website, but I've linked a similar one here. When I tried it on the sweet sales lady put this necklace with it and I just couldn't resist getting it. On the way out I picked up a black bralette - I've really been wanting one to wear under stuff and needed one to go with my new dress so I went ahead and got it!

Last off, my momma ordered me some new Converse and I am obsessed. I've had my old ones forever now and they are not lookin' too hot!

What are y'all shopping for this back-to-school season? Let me know in the comments!

Have a great day!

local festival looks

Howdy y'all! This weekend my town is holding their annual Arts & Jazz Festival and it's probably my favorite event all year. Everyone comes out and shops and listens to awesome jazz music and hangs out with their friends and family and it's just really cute. I decided to do a shoot showing y'all my outfits for this year's festival so you can get a lil' inspiration for any festival looks you might be planning this year. Also, shout out to my sister, Rachel, for clicking the button ;)

fall ootd

Howdy y'all! Today I've got a new OOTD for the fall season but before we get to that, I wanted to tell y'all about some stuff. As you know, I've been having trouble getting motivated lately (read my post about it here), but I'm trying to get back on track and with that, I'm especially trying to advance my blog. Starting next week, I'm going to be posting two times a week (Fridays, as usual, and Tuesdays). It may take me a while to get used to this, so just bear with me as I get settled into the new schedule. I'll also be participating in a link up next week, so my post will go up on Wednesday instead of Tuesday! Now that I got all that crazy stuff out of my system, here's the outfit!

Sweater: Target
Jeans: Old Navy (as usual)
Tank: Target

This outfit is super comfy and I am IN LOVE with the sweater. Also these shoes: major heart eyes. Do y'all have any fall fashion faves? Let me know all about your latest obsession in the comments!

Have a great day!

wedding ootd

Howdy y'all! This past weekend I went to the wedding of some family friends. This couple is so sweet and has been dating for 7 years (!!!!). I was super pumped to go to their wedding and it was absolutely adorable. Here's what I wore to their special day of celebration.

My fit and flare black dress is from New York & Co.. It's a new addition to my wardrobe and I LOVE it because it has a very 50's vibe (also it's super fun to twirl around in). My my mint statement necklace and earrings (similar) are from Charming Charlie's which were featured in my Back to School Styles post. My shoes are black wedges from Target.

When you go outside to shoot for 10 min. and walk away with 30 mosquito bites.

I hope y'all enjoyed this post! What is your staple wedding wear? Let me know in the comments, or on Twitter!

Have a great day!

back to school styles

Howdy y'all! This week was my first week of school so I thought I would show you a few of my back to school outfits.

For the first day, I wore this big button-up from H&M and Old Navy jeans. My shoes are Espadrilles and my necklace is from Charming Charlie's (similar). My bracelets are both from James Avery.

My second outfit includes this flowy top from Ann Taylor Loft as well as some jeans from Old Navy. My flats are from New York and Co. (similar) and my bracelets are both from James Avery. My necklace is a piece my mom got from her Stitch Fix (which is actually such a cool service, especially if you have a hard time finding clothes you like).

By mid-week, I thought it was about time for a "lazy day" outift. I'm wearing a long sleeve from my church camp (read about my camp here), Old Navy jeans (again), and my Converse. To dress it up a little, I added a sparkly headband from Francesca's (similar) and bracelets from James Avery, Trrtlz (here's a list of retailers), and Lokai.

I hope y'all enjoyed this post! What cute outfits did you style for your first week back? Let me know in the comments below!

Have a great day!
